次の一万円札の肖像は誰がいいのか？

これはいま私が毎週通っているビジネス英語クラスの宿題です。

来週、パワーポイントを使ってこのテーマで５分間のプレゼンを行わなければいけません。

ちなみに次のお札の肖像にふさわしいのは、20代にとったアンケートだとイチローがトップだそうですね。

お札の肖像にするなら？20代「イチロー」、30代「今上天皇陛下」、40代「坂本龍馬」｜「マイナビウーマン」

しかしイチローはアメリカならまだしも野球の盛んでないヨーロッパや南米、東南アジアなど誰も知らないのではないかと思うのです。

でも40代１位、50代２位の坂本龍馬も日本人しか知らないだろうし、それを言ってしまえば現在の野口英世、福沢諭吉、樋口一葉なんて海外の人は誰も知らないと思うのです。

そう考えるとアンケート結果にある４０代が５位に推す

ドラえもん

が最適じゃないかと思うのです。

なにせ世界50か国以上で放映され、特にアジア圏での人気が高いですね。

お札の肖像に選ぶ条件としては

１．日本が世界に誇れる人物であること

２．誰もが良く知っていること

３．偽造を防ぐために精密な肖像画が手に入ること

だそうです。

肖像になる基準は？ 今まで最も登場したのは？意外と知らない紙幣のナゾ｜「マイナビウーマン」

１．２は余裕でクリアしてますが、問題は３でしょうか。（笑）

この際、1000円札は悟空、5000円札はガンダム、いや高級感から言って10000円札がガンダム、5000円が悟空、1000円がドラえもんでいいのではないでしょうか。

5000円はセーラームーンでもいいかも。

They are usually decided in the special meeting by representatives of the finance ministry, Japan bank and the Mint Bureau.

These are their three conditions.

The first is an internationally honorable person.

The second is that Everybody knows him or her.

The third is a high-resolution portrait.

It means that a high-resolution drawing can prevent a bad man making fake bills.

In addition, I googled the result of internet survey about who's the next person for bills.

The questionnaire reveals that Ichiro is the best, current emperor is the second, Ryoma Sakamoto is the third among people who are in their twenties.

As for thirties, current emperor is the best, the second is Ryoma Sakamoto, the third is Ichiro.

And among forties、Ryoma Sakamoto is the best , the second is Showa emperor, the third is current emperor.

Finally, let's talk about 60's, Shotoku Taisi is the best, Hideki Yukawa is the second, Sakamoto Ryoma is the second.

According to this survey, I will nominate Ichiro, current emperor and Ryoma Sakamoto as a candidate for new bills.

I think Ichiro is one of the most fantastic baseball player in baseball history. However, he is nothing but a baseball player and he is not well-known globally, especially in Europe.

And also, current emperor is a great man. but this choice seems to be boring.

Finally, let's think of Ryoma Sakamoto.

He seems to be very popular for all generations.

 Because he had beloved character. Allegedly, he was kind, gentle, brave and independent and he had an unique appearance like this.

And he was a hero of the last days of Tokugawa government. 

However, he made a lot of great political achievements, he was assassinated by enemies.

That made him a hero of tragedy.

Finally, he has been featured in many TV dramas and movies so far.

That's why every Japanese is very familiar with him.

However, I will eliminate him from the candidate list.

Because he is not well-known globally.

I think almost all foreign people don't know him.

If so, who is the best?

My answer is Doraemon.

I didn't show the complete results of the questionnaire, Doraemon was nominated as a fifth rank among 40's.

Why did I choose Doraemon?

The reasons are that everyone loves Draemon.

And Doraemon is absolutely popular in many countries.

Doraemon animation series has been broadcasted in more than 50 countries.

Especially, he is very popular in Asian countries, such as China or the Philippines.

And he is a symbol or icon of peace.

He doesn't like any conflicts, and the stories of Draemon always have happy endings.

This is a new lineup for bills.

Goku is for ¥1,000 bills, Gandam is for ¥5,000 bills and Doraemon is for ￥10,000 bills.

Actually, two of them are not human.

It's funny.
